For almost two additional years of maturation, the barrels selected by Billy Walker formed the wooden home for the single malt whisky, which initially matured in Bourbon barrels.
Now, in June 2021, the first three bottlings of the new Wine Cask Series are available - and promise diverse perspectives on classic GlenAllachie Speyside Scotch Whisky.

Whether the terroir of the wine, the grape variety, the type of oak or the degree of toasting: Each of these barrel aspects influences the properties of the whiskeys and creates single malts with taste profiles that are remembered.
This is ensured, for example, by Super Tuscan barrique barrels made of French oak, pre-filled with red wine from the Grattamacco winery in the Bolgheri region in Tuscany.
The 11-year-old bottling of the series developed its characteristic notes of light stone fruit, toffee and orange peel in them.

Der Rotwein hinterlässt interessante Spuren und macht den GlenAllachie fast schon spritzig-fruchtig mit einer angenehmen Süße. Gut gelungenes Experiment.
