GlenAllachie is on the wood track - luckily not in the sense of the proverb.
The distillery's popular Wood Finish Series is being continued with a new bottling.
Double reason to be happy: The GlenAllachie 12 year old Marsala Wood Finish is an exclusive bottling for the German market.
As for all Single Malts of the aromatic series, Billy Walker cooperated with niche producers for the 12-year-old to secure small quantities of excellent casks that wonderfully complement the profile of the GlenAllachie Whisky.
The new one matured first in American Oak Barrels for over 10 years.
Filled into Casks that previously contained the Sicilian dessert wine Marsala, it developed additional depth of aromas in its second maturation period like apple, apricot and cinnamon.
Like its predecessors, the single malt comes with a pleasant 48%vol. alcohol content in the bottle and is neither colored nor chill-filtered.
Nose: apples and pineapple with honey, cinnamon and traces of Mint
Taste: intense notes of heather honey, raisins, toffee and apricot, fused with sweet cinnamon and tannins.
