This eight-year-old Kilkerran from the Glengyle distillery matured in former, newly burned Oloroso sherry casks and was made in 2021 Filled in cask strength.
Nose: very nicely balanced - rich, with a soft peat note - juicy and mouth-filling aromas of maraschino cherries, with vanilla fudge, toffee pudding and roasted coffee beans - jam and fruits in balance with a little smoke
Taste: dark fruits, especially plums, cherries and sweet raspberries - then boiled apples, the taste of lemon glaze and some dark chocolate powder - above all dry peat smoke
Finish: notes of sea salt, dark cocoa and dying campfire, with sandalwood, the smell of BBQ ribs and dry peat smoke
