Chichibu, approx. 100 km from Tokyo, is the home of Chichibu Distillery.
The small town was the logical choice for Ichiro Akuto when he founded Whisky Ventures, one of Japan's most respected whiskey companies, in 2004: the descendant of the Akuto family who once ran the famous, now closed Hanyu distillery Born in Chichibu and knows the region, which with its pure water resources and extreme climatic differences is ideally suited for the production of Japanese single malt.

The two single cask bottlings that came to Germany in early 2021, are strictly limited.
The single malts from 2012 and 2014 were bottled exclusively for Germany.
As the artistic labels typical of Chichibu reveal, the noble releases are dedicated to the cities of Munich and Berlin.
