Nose: a strong gush of smoked cream, with mint and Toffee - then the classic Ardbeg aromas of fennel and pine resin - the scent of a campfire, mixed with herbs, banana and tropical fruits
Palate: lively in taste - first a spicy-hot pepper taste, then becoming sweeter, noticeably lemon sorbet with candied apples, pears and oranges - in the background a hint of Carbolic soap and tar, followed by creamy toffee, anise and chilli pepper
