Twenty years of Compass Box!
In 2020 Compass Box Whisky celebrates its 20th anniversary.
After the Rogues' Banquet and the Hedonism Felicitas, this is the third anniversary bottling.
A blended malt scotch whisky from the Imperial distillery and a distillery near the town of Aberlour.
Compass Box had had whisky samples from the Imperial Distillery, which closed in 1998, in their blending room for some time.
The whisky, matured in first-fill bourbon barrels, is full of fruit and vanilla notes and has a stimulating body.
However, to find the right project and the right accompaniment for these single malt kegs turned out to be a real challenge.
Then the team received the first samples from one of their experimental barrel tests. In 2016 they poured a robust and full-bodied New Make Spirit into Sherry Butts.
Before that, this spirit was in ex-Bourbon barrels for a year. Nobody suspected that after three years the whisky had become so rich, fruity and intense.
A special barrel, in particular, magically combined with the whiskey from the lost distillery, making a wonderful, rich one Blended Malt Scotch Whisky.

92% single malt whisky from the Imperial distillery, matured in first fill bourbon barrels
8% single malt whisky from a distillery near the town of Aberlour, matured in First Fill Oloroso Sherry Butts
