In 1902 the doors of the Glasgow Distillery Company closed. Founded in 1770 under the name Dundashill, it was one of the first licensed whisky distilleries in Scotland - and one of the largest for malt whisky. At the end of the 19th century the town distillery was producing an extraordinary 360,000 gallons a year. A piece of history that it deserves to be revived, thought Liam Hughes, Mike Hayward and Ian McDougall. Infected by the pioneering spirit, they dared to restart the Glasgow Distillery in 2014.
That the operators of the distillery are familiar with barrels, they already know with theirs popular Prometheus third-party bottling gen proven. Exclusively for Germany, the Glaswegians now have the first distillery's own single cask bottled. With a strong 62.1%vol. alcohol content the amber-colored scotch from the sherry butt flowed into 708 bottles. A classy label with high-gloss embossing in gold shows in detail all the information about the filling, including the individual bottle number.
