With this bottling, Wemyss starts the Family Reserve, which is bottled once a year at cask strength.
The Casks used are 90% American Oak ex-Bourbon (90%) and 10% newly planed, toasted and re-charred exRed Wine Barriques.
Nose: flowery on the nose with aromas of jasmine and honeysuckle, behind ripe mangoes with honey, vanilla and saffron, ripe bananas, wine gum and strawberry fondant
Taste: sweet Shortbread, exotic fruits - especially the mangoes again, with papayas, followed by notes of coconut chips and spicy oak
Finish: intense, fresh-fruity finish with spicy oak tones
