Founded in 2005 by the brothers Francis & Ian Cuthbert in the Scottish Lowlands.
The name Daftmill means "crazy mill" and is based on the adjacent small river, which seems as if this flows up the mountain - the inhabitants call the river Daft Burn (crazy brook).
The distillery is operated as a sideline to their own farm and so it is only distilled here, if time permits, especially in winter.
Just 100 barrels are bottled every year.
This bottling is a vatting of seven first filled exBourbon barrels, bottled with an alcohol content of 46% vol.
