Portrait: What the Malfy Gin Originale.

The distillery is located in Moncalieri, just outside the city of Turin - an area known for the production of fine wines and spirits.

Torino Distillati was founded in 1906 was founded and is run by the Vergnano family - Carlo, his wife Piera and their children Rita and Valter.

Beppe Ronco and Denis Muni are the experienced master distillers.

Carlo Vergnano and Beppe Ronco, the distillers of MALFY Gin, are passionate alpinists.
Climbing to the top of Monviso (this one is from visible from the distillery) they were inspired by the wild juniper, the pure spring water and the amazing colors of the mountain lakes.

MALFY Gin Originale is distilled with juniper, coriander and five other botanicals and blended with pure spring water from nearby Monviso Mountain.
The bottom of the bottle is inspired by the mountain lakes and the label color reflects the snowy peak.

Botanicals: Juniper, Italian lemons (from the coast), coriander, cassia bark, angelica and liquorice root, Sicilian grapefruit peel

50ml Malfy Gin Originale
120ml Schweppes Indian Tonic
Garnish on ice cubes with a slice of lemon and mint leaves

Tasting Notes: This is how the Malfy Gin Originale tastes 

  • Colour: crystal clear like freshly melted ice cream
  • Nose: juniper, coriander and anise aromas
  • Palate: (almost salty) dry, with a light note of liquorice that rounds off the complex aromas of juniper and liquorice
