Robert Brown (1773-1858)
Robert Brown was a Scottish doctor and botanist who researched about 4,000 plant species.
While studying the ovule of orchids under the microscope, he repeatedly noticed one in the cells small body.
This had already been noticed by others before him, but misunderstood its meaning.
Brown christened the nucleus - he later had a great influence on the development of cell theory.
Brown made another groundbreaking discovery in Year 1827. When microscoping pollen, he noticed that the dust particles move completely irregularly and randomly, a phenomenon that was called Brownian motion in his honor.
With this he had the existence of tiny, invisible particles documented, which later found its final explanation through Albert Einstein.
