Kilchoman Sanaig Dark Batch 46%vol. 0,7l
Sanaig is a composition of four and five year old exBourbon and exOloroso sherry casks, the proportion of used exSherry casks is significantly higher here than at Machir Bay bottling.
Kilchoman made a fortuitous stroke of fortune with this batch!
The dark color results from much more active exSherry casks that were used - the much darker color compared to previous Sanaig batches did not materialize the bottling!
... and the taste here is much "chocolatier" than other Sanaig batches - suitable for the Christmas season.
Nose: soft fruit with caramel and vanilla
Taste: Toffee and peat smoke - then light citrus notes and a gentle sweetness, paired with clearly dark chocolate
Finish: very nice balance between peat smoke, ripe fruit and sweetness.

In allem noch eine Spur mächtiger als der normale Sanaig. Geht schon fast in Richtung Lagavulin und Laphro PX.

rauchig, rote Früchte, dunkle Schokolade und langer Abgang. Mir schmeckt der.
