Benromach has thrilled with fine wood finishes for years, this bottling has been given an extra maturation in exSassicaia wine barrels.
Distilled in 2010, this single malt whisky matured for over eight years before being bottled in 2018.
Nose: very fruity, clearly ripe, red berries, spicy aromas of fresh ginger and cinnamon - behind it malt and traces of smoke
Taste: at the beginning the spicy notes, which one finds in the aroma, then come the ripe fruits - above all raspberries and currants, to it chocolate and a little malt
Finish: long finish with a very elegant balance of fruit and spice - again the smoke
