Douglas Laings Scallywag combines the malt whiskys of renowned Scottish Speyside distilleries - including this limited 12-year barrel-bottling bottled in cask strength, which was bottled from exclusively first-fill former Spanish Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry casks.
The barrels were mated and bred together 6,000 bottles bottled.
Nose: rich aromas of preserved dark fruits and molasses - over all elegantly spicy aromas
Taste: luscious and sweet in the taste, again the dark fruits, with maple syrup, fresh vanilla pods and malted barley
Finish: in the long finish the aromas and flavors are present for a long time - towards the end soft and spicy tones
