Since 1918, the Clarke family owns and manages the distillery and land of the estate , slightly less than half of the adjacent 9,000 hectares (in addition, about 1,200 hectares outside the site belong to Worthy Park) are used to grow sugar cane, which of course also produces the molasses that is used to make the rum.
