For the blended malt whisky "Blooming Gorse" the independent bottler Wemyss selected 15 first-fill exBourbon barrels and four first-fill hogheads from just two northern Highland distilleries.
Unfortunately, the two distilleries can not be named for legal reasons.
Nose: fresh aromas of vanilla and coconut, then nutty aromas of hazelnut and cashew, as well as the name-giving gorse
Taste: soft and creamy in the taste with notes of warm porridge, mild-spicy - again the coconut
Finish: medium finish - coconut and vanilla are present
