The second bottling from Arran's Explorers Series - each edition presents an outstanding location in the beautiful and diverse landscape of Arran Island.
Across the wide bay in the middle of the village is a short peninsula, where Lochranza Castle stands alone over the landscape. A rare attraction that was originally built in 1200 as a medieval hall house and today proudly forms the center of the village.
Deer roam freely and the natural amphitheater formed by hills creates a breathtaking backdrop for this ancient ruin, which inspires the visitor's imagination and gives a glimpse of the history of this peaceful coastal village.
This limited-edition bottling is 21 years old and matured in former Sherry Hogsheads before getting its finish in exAmontillado sherry casks sourced directly from the Bodegas Tradicion in Jerez De La Frontera, Spain.
Aroma: caramelized almonds and chocolate-coated crystalline ginger, with intense aromas of dried apricots and caramelised brown sugar
Taste: full-bodied, with notes of honeycomb and salted caramel, then herbal notes followed by orchard fruits that come to the fore
Finish: long finish with notes of Assam tea and fine cigar smoke
