This eight-year Kilkerran from the Glengyle distillery matured in former bourbon barrels and was bottled in barrel strength in 2018.
Aroma: old, worn leather and pipe tobacco, followed by much sweeter aromas of soft cake, vanilla and clotted cream - with lime and green apple peel
Taste: sweet notes from the former Bourbon barrel, golden syrup on pancakes, ripe bananas and toffee - roasted marshmallows behind
Departure: in the finish easy peat smoke and the earthy soil of a warehouse - above all herbs, marzipan and grapes
