The fourth bottling of the Local Barley range - Springbank used Optic barley from High Cattadale Farm on the Kintyre peninsula for this bottling.
Distilled in July 2009, the single malt whiskey matured over nine years until October 2018, when Springbank filled the barrels with 9,700 bottles.
The barrels used are 80% exBourbon and 20% exSherry.
Aroma: typical Springbank flavors; an elegant saltiness, sea shells and fresh oysters - behind a strong peppered cheese, honeycomb and fresh vanilla
Taste: Whipped cream, pear drops and spicy heather - followed by barley, sorbet and sugarcane, with nectarines and dandelions
Departure: light, pleasant dry peat, over the juicy plums, raisins and crushed pepper - in the background dry straw
