Austrian Empire Navy Rum Cask Cognac 46.5% vol. 0,7l

The name inevitably suggests that this rum comes from Austria.
But far from it, the Albert Michler distillery is based in the British Bristol, the rum comes from the Dominican Republic.
In 1863, Albert Michler was purveyor to the Austrian-Hungarian court and one of the first to publicize rum from the Caribbean in Europe.

First, this rum matured in former bourbon barrels, then it was for a further 12-16 months, a second maturation in former cognac barrels made of French Limousin oak

Aroma: elegant and soft in the aroma, ripe grapes and fresh vanilla - in the background spicy oak and red berries
Taste: soft and mouth-filling in the taste - a light, pleasant sweetness of ripe grapes and maple syrup, followed by light notes of fresh herbs, malt and oak
Finish: long on the finish - slightly spicy, again the grapes
