Caol Ila's unsung single malt whiskey was bottled in 2018 at the age of 15.
The non-peated version is distilled without the use of malted malt, ripened in refill barrels - remanufactured American oak hogsheads and European oak exBodega butts - this is truly an unusual Caol Ila.

Aroma: mild in the aroma despite the strength, fruity aromas of green apples and orange zest, with pear candies and pastries - in the background soft vanilla and some sea salt
Taste: cool and almost viscous and oily in the taste with an astonishing gentleness - sweet and malty at the beginning with a slightly salty taste, then an intense spiciness with hints of resinous liquorice and honey, with pine resin, salt and lemon with some peach
Departure: long-lasting, warming finish with spicy notes of anise and licorice, with honey and lemon zest - dark chocolate in the background
