Lagavulin's 12-year barrel-filling - the limited-edition 2018 was distilled in 2005 and matured in Refill American Oak Hogsheads.
Aroma: intense, smoldering peat smoke with clear aromas of tar and a fresh sea breeze - followed by citrus and tropical fruits, fresh mint and planed pine wood
Taste: soft and oily in the taste - sweet at first, then salty with a slight vinegar sharpness - with hints of mint, wax and old wooden crates
Finish: long, smoky-spicy finish - again the old wood and the spicy sharpness
