A 16-year old single malt whiskey from one of the northernmost Scottish Highland distilleries - unfortunately the name is not mentioned.
Namesake for the Highland Queen bottlings is Mary Queen of Scots, the Scottish queen from 1561 to 1567.
A rich and spicy single malt whiskey with an outstanding price / performance ratio!
Aroma: distinct aromas of figs and dates, with strong spicy aromas, some dark chocolate and licorice
Taste: full and pleasantly soft in the taste - warm, buttered toast and Butterscotch, then fruity with ripe Mirabellen and Reneclauden - light smoke over everything
Finish: long finish - again the fruits and the smoke - the spicy notes carry the finish

Typischer Frauenwhisky, mild im Geschmack und schmeckt nicht nach Torf.

Wenn man weiß, woher er stammt, dann fragt man sich, warum die den nicht selber als 16 Jährigen abfüllen. Sehr weich und mild, aber eben mit wenig % Vol. Als Einsteiger sehr zu empfehlen.

Guter komplexer Whisky mit ganz leichter Rauchnote, wer nicht auf Sherry Finish steht wird ihn mögen.
