For the first time, the Indian distillery John Distilleries presents a Christmas Edition in 2018 - limited to 3,000 bottles worldwide (720 bottles for Germany).
For this bottling seven-year-old peated and ungetorfte single malts were married together, first matured in former bourbon barrels, the Vatting then received a finish in former Oloroso sherry casks.
The light smokiness is accompanied by intense notes of ripe plums, dates and nuts - wonderful and perfectly attuned to Christmas.
Nose: intense aromas of honey, hazelnuts and citrus fruits - in addition to the sherry influence with aromas of luscious fruit cake, plums and apples - above all, a slight smokiness and spiciness The light smokiness is accompanied by intense notes of ripe plums, dates and nuts - wonderful and perfectly attuned to Christmas.
Taste: full and lush in the taste with intense fruitiness, again the plums and the nuts, in addition dates and sweet honey - in the background spicy notes
Finish: long on the finish - now clearly the Oloroso sherry, paired with figs and dates, in addition to the honey
