Distilled on April 11, 1997, matured this single malt whiskey over 21 years in the barrel no. 6372 - even if Signatory does not specify the type of barrel, the color clearly indicates a former sherry barrel.
Bottled on June 14, 2018 at only 830 bottles in Signatory's fine Decanter Collection.

Aroma: initially slightly floral with lots of malt, then fruity-sweet aromas of juicy raisins, dates and figs develop - subtly spicy hints in the background
Taste: again the malty notes, paired with freshly baked bread with butter - sweeter with vanilla and dark chocolate behind
Departure: long and full on the finish with noticeably spicy oak and ground pepper - over all butterscotch and ripe berries

Der Glenrothes 1997/2018 ist ein traumhafter Whisky. Und das Tüpfelchen auf dem i ists der tolle Decanter. Für mich ist dieser Whisky für besondere Momente reserviert.
