A 14-year-old Longrow, matured exclusively in refilled exOloroso sherry casks!
Longrow is the peated variant from Springbank - the malt is roasted over peat fire for 48 hours before it reaches the Gärbottich at Springbank as a mash, thus contributing to the unmistakable peaty, smoky taste.
Aroma: very fruity with aromas of toffee apples, pears and strawberries - chocolate in the background, then salty popcorn, some mint and honey
Taste: salty and clear the proximity to the sea - again fruity, now raisins, orange chocolate and plums - behind it getting drier with some Demerara sugar and pastries
Finish: BBQ seasoning, especially cayenne and paprika, followed by pastry with sugar and cinnamon, pecans and a gentle smokiness
