Highland Park's "The Light" is the sequel to "The Dark" and now celebrates the solstice from winter to spring and summer - ripened in refilled American oak barrels.
The noble bottle with relief embossing is presented in a heavy, black wooden frame.
Aroma: fresh, distinctive aromas of homegrown fruit, particularly ripe pears and apples, plus an elegant citrus freshness - then spicier aromas of herbs and heather - over all spicy oak
Taste: the fruity notes fade into the background and make room for a strong note Butterscotch and soft vanilla - then again the herbs, coupled with tones of cinnamon and coriander - light peat smoke in the background
Departure: long finish with a light sweetness - the fruits come back again
