Port Charlotte, distilled from Islay barley, with Islay water and Islay peat!
For over six years, this 2011 distilled single malt whiskey matured in traditional oak barrels at Bruichladdich.
Aroma: lots of peat smoke and fresh tar, then fruity aromas of lemon, apple and peach - followed by vanilla, chocolate and coconut
Taste: slightly salty notes to the dry peat smoke - caramel and spicy oak - above all strong notes of tar and heavily burned wood, smoke and ground pepper
Finish: long finish - again the tar and the peat smoke - slightly salty with hints of tobacco and burnt coconut
