The Edition 8.2 of the Octomore has a phenol content of 167ppm - a very tormented Single Malt Whisky! First, this Single Malt Whisky matured in exSauternes and exMourvedre Wine Barrels, then for another two years in Italian exAmarone wine barrels.
Nose: clearly smoke and peat, paired with sweet, ripe berry fruits, a little vanilla and spicy pepper Taste: sweet fruits and sweet peat smoke, then spicy, again the pepper, to some sea salt and old leather Finish: long finish, lots of peat, with more fruity notes
