The 12-year-old is a delicacy with a wonderful heidetone and a full, sweet smoking sound.
The whisky author and critic Michael Jackson calls him the greatest all-rounder among malt whiskys.
Nose: fresh and very aromatic, floral aromas - in the background freshly cut grass, honey and freshly squeezed juice - especially citrus, then cream and sweetness
Taste: full in the taste, clearly orange and pomegranate, toast and green tea - again the slight sweetness
Finish: long, peppery-spicy finish, a hint of oak

Highland Park's 18-year-old won the gold medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition.
Nose: floral aromas, aromas of ripe fruit salad, exotic fruits, some honey
Taste: creamy and full of fruit, some espresso, cinnamon and spices, honey again and some smoke
Finish: long sweet finish with a herbal note, some oak
