Tomatin shows how closely these elements are linked to the production of whiskey: water feeds wood - wood keeps fire upright - fire brings life to the earth - earth produces metal - metal collects water, so the circle closes.
This peated bottling matured in Refill Hogsheads.
Aroma: clear vanilla and the scent of burning heather, with ripe, dark fruits and sweet smoke
Taste: a distinct smoky note and one untypical for tomatin. slight saltiness, then notes of strong honey and seaweed
Finish: long and complex on the finish with sweet and smoky notes
