A single malt whiskey bottled by Ian MacLeod in the popular "As we get it" series.

Aroma: ripe barley, rich peat smoke and spicy malt aromas - followed by light aromas of ripe citrus fruits
Taste: strong, spicy notes, clearly coriander and peppery notes, behind it a slight sweetness of toffee - over all dried herbs and a lot of peat
Finish: long, spicy finish with notes of extinguished peat fire

Köstlicher, preiswerter Islay Single Malt. Sehr zu empfehlen.

Toller rauchig-fruchtiger Islay Wiskey in Fassstärke

Sehr gut, was man hier fürs Geld (hier derzeit 39,99€) bekommt. Mit der Nase dringt man nur schwer durch den hohen Alkohol Anteil. Mit etwas Wasser verdünnt macht der Whiskey mehr auf, sowohl von der Nase her, als auch im Mund. Im Aroma blitzen immer wieder verschiedenste Geschmacksnuancen auf, wobei sich bei mir Torfrauch und Kompottbirne und Süße mit gleichzeitig dezenter Salznote durchsetzten.
Im Mund Rauch und der Birnengewschmack setzt sich fort. Der Rauch ist angenehm und nicht aufdringlich. Den Abgang fand ich seidig und mittellang und auch hier bleibt der Kompottbirnengeschmack hängen.
Gefällt mir sehr gut, weil der Islay Whiskey eher auf der fruchtig-süßen Seite daherkommt und man mit Wasser experimentieren kann und dadurch geschmackliche Variationen erzielt.
Pur würde ich ihn jetzt nicht empfehlen, ein wenig Verdünnung macht das m.E. Geschmackerlebnis um eingies reicher. Bin froh die Flasche im Bestand zu haben und sie noch voll genießen zu können.
