The brother of "Vanilla Burst" - Treacle Chest is a blended malt whiskey from just two Highland distilleries.
Independent bottler Wemyss selected 14 first-fill exOloroso sherry hogsheads from these two Highland distilleries, married them and filled the blended malt with 6,300 bottles.
Unfortunately, the two distilleries may not be named for legal reasons.
Aroma: powerful syrup sweetness with distinct aromas of dates, blackcurrants and figs - behind them intenisve, very aromatic wood aromas, such as a chest of mahogany or chestnut
Taste: mouth-filling with rich sherry notes, with malty-spicy waves - then develop notes of sherry-soaked Christmas cake, ginger biscuits and old leather - some dark dark chocolate
Finish: the wood again, paired with light tones of cumin, pipe tobacco and mild spices
Limited to 6,300 bottles
