For the blended malt whiskey "Vanilla Burst", the independent bottler Wemyss selected 15 Fresh Bourbon barrels from just two Speyside distilleries.
Unfortunately, the two distilleries may not be named for legal reasons, they are two Speyside distilleries, very popular with whiskey blenders, famous for their soft, delicate and very fruity taste.
Typical for the first time with filled exBourbon barrels of 200 liters each, the malt whiskys developed intense vanilla and spicy notes.
Nose: a fruity bouquet of peach, lemon, toffee and pineapple syrup, with creamy vanilla and buttery shortbread
Taste: initially intense vanilla notes, reminiscent of cream anglaise, spiced with saffron and ginger - then juicy oak tones with clearly ripe pomaceous fruit, white chocolate, roasted almonds and toffee
Finish: long finish with plenty of toffee and hazelnut, with hints of spicy oak and soft vanilla
