Floki Young Malt - Sheep Dung Smoked reserve 47% vol. 0.5l
The Icelandic distillery Eimverk opened its doors in 2009 and has since been producing single malt whiskys.
For this filling Eimverk malt the barley over sheep manure, for Icelandic conditions eigenltich no special feature, the smoking with sheep manure has always been a tradition in the smoking of meat and fish.
Also for heating is in Iceland sheep dung - as in Scotland peat - used.
The result is smoky, exceptional malt whisky.
Nose: strong, tart aromas of smoke, herbs and malt - slight hints of vanilla in the background
Taste: distinctly smoky with a surprisingly creamy mouthfeel - then light notes of dried fruit, vanilla and old leather
Finish: long finish with lots of smoke and malt

enttäuschend
wirkt parfümiert, die Vanille-Note kommt mir künstlich vor (muss an Dr. Oetker denken). Schade, denn ausgerechnet mit einem Floki bin ich überhaupt erst auf Whiskey gekommen.
