Aroma: intense aromas of dark sherry with raisins and fresh fruit cake
Taste: sweet sherry with notes of bourbon vanilla, spicy nutmeg and ginger
Departure: again the sherry and the vanilla, to much ripe grain and echoes of mocha

Der Scallywag war durchaus lecker. Er wird nicht mein Lieblings- Whisky aber sein Geld wert.

Der Scallywag ist durchaus typisch für die Speyside. Hier kommt er in einer fülligeren Version als die NAS-Abfüllung, bleibt aber in der Scallywag-Range. Ich mag die remarkable regional Malts Serie sehr, da die in ihr vorgestellten Whiskies einerseits durchaus typisch für die unterschiedlichen Regionen sind, andererseits die einzelnen Linien sehr konsistent einen bestimmten Typ darstellen, angefangen bei den jeweiligen NAS-Abfüllungen bis hoch zu den Abfüllungen mit 10, 13, 18, 21 und 40 Jahren.
