For 12 years, this peated single malt whiskey matured in exBourbon barrels, followed by a second maturation for 15 months in fresh exMalbec barrels of the South African winery Stellenbosch.
Aroma: clearly the proximity to the sea - sea salt and sea spray, then fruity with aromas of cocktail cherries, blueberries and redcurrants - subtle the smell of tobacco leaves
Taste: now more and more fruit - rhubarb, boiled apples and juicy plums - then notes of ham and soft, delicate peat smoke, again the sea salt
Finish: the red wine dominates, paired with camp fire smoke, prunes and fresh cherries
Edition: 9,000 bottles
