For 13 years, this limited edition matured in fresh and refilled, former Oloroso sherry casks.
Distilled in October 2003, bottled in March 2017 to 12,000 bottles

Aroma: sweet raisins and marzipan, then Demerara sugar and molasses - creamy toffee and freshly planed wood
Taste: fresh strawberry jam with cane sugar and cream, notes of fresh orange peel and brandy, creme brulee with white chocolate behind
Finish: clearly orange chocolate and creamy coffee liqueur, tones of buttered popcorn and cocoa beans - above all light mocha notes and sweet orange marmalade

Den habe ich auf einem Tasting kennen gelernt - und gekauft. Hier noch eine zweite Flasche erworben. So hat man mal im Alter...
Im Ernst: Sehr elegant (3-fach destilliert) und dennoch ein Springbank (ohne Rauch) mit maritimem Touch. Süße Rosine, dunkle Schokolade, Creme Caramell au beurre sallee. Wirklich zugreifen, den gibt's nicht lange.
Habe mich gewundert aufgrund der 13 Jahre, Fass-Stärke und nur 47,irgendwas Prozent.
Laut Springbank-Homepage isses aber so. Die Fässer haben offensichtlich VIEL geatmet. Ich würde den Whisky auch eher deutlich älter einschätzen - ohne ZU starken Eicheneinfluss.

Nur? 12000 Flaschen. Kenn man den 10-jährigen von Hazelburn, kann man gut davon ausgehen, dass man mit dem 13 - jährigen - so man den Sherrycharakter liebt, einen guten Tropfen ins Haus holt.

Nase: Honig, Marzipan, Rosinen und ein riesiger Fruchtkorb, fein und komplex zugleich
Gaumen: wieder komplex, wieder diese Früchte (neben Sherry vor allem Papaya, Orangen, auch Äpfel), Honig, ein ganz kleiner Anflug von Torfrauch, brauner Zucker
Abgang: mittellang bis lang, leicht würzig, Orangen, Vanille, ganz leicht salzig

Fantastischer Oloroso, komplex, Sherry präsent aber nicht übertrieben
