Benriach ripened this single malt whiskey in former Moscatel sherry casks and then filled the whiskey at a proud age of 22 years. The result is a rich, robust single malt from the Scottish Speyside with lots of fruit, sherry and spicy notes.
Aroma: sweet fig syrup and dates, with aromas of dark orange marmalade - cocoa and cinnamon in the background Taste: velvety soft in the taste with soft, dark chocolate with fondant and dark cherries, with plums and spicy honey Departure: Remarkably long finish, first soft, earthy notes with nutmeg and old leather - then more and more ripe dark fruits, clearly the sherry - in the background spicy, delicate oak notes
