Bowmore's Black Rock matures in former bourbon and sherry barrels, the influence of the environment in which the barrels ripened is clearly recognizable in the aroma and taste - a peaty smoky note and sea salt!
Aroma: Bowmore's classic smokiness, then raisins, pepper and warm cocoa beans, with scalded orange peel
Taste: lots of sherry and peat smoke, followed by black currant, soft toffee and cinnamon
Finish: a very nice balance between peat, smoke and sea salt
