The Peat, Pure Islay, unlike Full Proof, is "only" 45% vol. Alcohol content bottled.
Aroma: burned lemons, damp peat and freshly roasted malt - then earthy notes, licorice and citrus - lemon, lime and grapefruit - with some molasses and dark sugar in the background
Taste: warm and leathery, moist heather and campfire on the beach - roasted fruits - apples and lime with sugar - spicy peat smoke and warm, spicy notes
Departure: more subtle than expected on the finish - sea air and baked apples, some charcoal and cinnamon, freshly cut fruit behind
