Product information "Big Peat Christmas Edition 2016 & the Regional Malts 1x0,7l & 5x 0.05l"
All united! The remarkable regional Malts by Douglas Laing in trial size together with the Big Peat Christmas Edition 2016.
Big Peat Christmas Edition 2016 Douglas Laing 54.6% vol. 0,7l
The 2016 Christmas edition brings together for the first time single malt whiskeys from all nine Islay distilleries - including the single malt from the distillery Port Ellen, which has been closed since 1983!
For example, every sock on the fireplace of the fisherman from Islay on the label and the gift pack symbolizes one of the nine distilleries on Islay.
Bottled as usual in barrel size - this time with 54.6% vol.
Big Peat - Small Batch Douglas Laing 46% vol. 0.05l
Aroma: warming peat smoke, with chocolate, nutty aromas and coffee - spicy with a little cinnamon - oily-smoky
Taste: straight out! a lot of heavy smoke, peat and again the nuts - spicy
Finish: short finish, now you can see the proximity to the sea - clearly smoke
A scoop of Islay Malt whiskeys!
Rock Oyster Iceland Blended Malt Douglas Laing 46.8% vol. 0.05l
Aroma: coastal rocks lapped by the sea and a fresh, salty sea breeze
Taste: soft notes of sweet peat, smoke and honey - then moist ash, liquorice and a hint of pepper
Finish: long finish, in which the strong aromas and notes come back again clearly
This whiskey makes you want to sea!
The Epicurean Lowland Blended Malt Douglas Laing 46.2% vol. 0.05l
Aroma: distinctively malted barley with intense aromas of citrus fruits and fresh herbs in combination with floral tones
Taste: full-bodied and sweet in the taste - caramelized sugar, flambéed lemon peel and a wonderfully fruity note of ripe peaches - this develops a clear, pleasantly spicy thyme note
Finish: lingering finish - again the fresh herbs and the caramelized sugar, almond and freshly cut grass
The whiskey for pleasure people (English The Epicurean)!
Timorous Beastie Highland Blended Malt Douglas Laing 46.8% vol. 0.05l
Aroma: clearly sweet acacia honey, anise and fresh apples, followed by strawberries and apricots - sherry and spicy heather aromas hover above everything
Taste: again the apples and the anise, then dried fruits and malt - carried by sweet-spicy heather notes
Finish: a long finish - fruity with hints of cinnamon and freshly baked bread
The whiskey for Highland poets, such as Robert Burns (his poem "To a mouse" is the namesake for this blended malt whiskey.
Scallywag Speyside Blended Malt Douglas Laing 46% vol. 0.05l
Aroma: pleasantly sweet with cane sugar and raisins, some ginger - but the sweetness is the favorite - clear influences of the sherry casks!
Taste: the sweetness recedes and makes way for spicy notes of nutmeg, cinnamon and malt, a little vanilla behind
Finish: the vanilla is still present with spicy oak and again the sherry sweetness
The little thug of this series!
