One of the rare bottlings from the already closed in 1987 Grain Distillery Caledonian.
For over 40 years, this single grain whiskey matured in a Refill Hogshead, then Douglas Laing filled the cask in June 2016 to only 291 bottles in the exclusive XOP series.
Aroma: clearly sweet maple syrup and gentle spicy aromas - a little ginger and citrus fruits
Taste: very balanced and pleasantly sweet with notes of corn oil and fresh vanilla
Departure: A surprisingly long finish for a grain whiskey - all flavors are harmoniously balanced again on the finish.
