The peated single malt whiskey from Scotland's oldest distillery.
Whitewashed malt whiskeys are nothing new at Glenturret, they have always produced a large portion of whiskey with a distinct hint of smoke and peat, and the majority of the smoky, drunken barrels end up in the blended whiskeys of Famous Grouse.
Aroma: clearly peat - with biscuits baked with nuts - BBQ smoke, roasted coffee and cake
Taste: oily with lots of smoke, notes of cereals and citrus fruits - especially lemon and grapefruit
Departure: in the finish again the peat smoke, in addition a slight sweetness and spicy oak
