World Whiskeys Awards 2015: Best Irish Whiskey under 12 years old
World Whiskeys Awards 2016: Best Irish Whiskey under 12 years old
After more than 80 years, the Dunville & Co. brand celebrates its comeback in 2016 with this acclaimed 10-year-old whiskey.
Dunville & Co. used barrels from well-known Irish distilleries for this single malt and filled them for maturing into former Pedro Ximenez sherry casks.
The barrels were stored until bottling in their own new distillery Echlinville in Northern Ireland.
Echlinville is the first new distillery in Northern Ireland after more than 125 years - Echlinville received its distillery license in May 2013
Shane Braniff is the owner, he owns the land around the distillery, where the barley for the whiskey is grown and harvested on its own responsibility.
Aroma: fresh green apples, paired with fresh grass and tropical fruits
Taste: soft and sweet in the taste - reminiscent of fruit gum, with spicy notes and vanilla sauce
Finish: juicy raisins and Irish caramel with a peppery-spicy note
