The third edition of the Six Generations series by Glenfarclas.
Each edition honors a generation of the Grant family who own and run the distillery since 1865.
The third edition is dedicated to George Grant (1874-1949).
George and his brother John led the company into independence under the resolution "Spirit of Independence".
The family has been following that motto ever since and is proud that Glenfarclas is owned by the family and successfully run by the family.
In 1921, George married Jessie Stuart Scott, with whom he had two sons - George Scott Grant and John Peter Grant.
This 50 year old single malt whiskey was matured exclusively in exOloroso sherry casks, bottled only 937 bottles.
The edition comes in a noble leather box with a picture of the George Grant.
Aroma: fresh, sweet sherry flavors, with light notes of barley and oak
Taste: again the sherry, with cream caramel and butterscotch - then slightly spicy notes, soft toffee, chocolate ice cream and raisins in sherry
Finish: beautifully balanced - sherry and spicy fruits, some cinnamon and an endless sweetness of sherry
