A 19-year-old Glenrothes, distilled in 1996, stored this single malt whiskey in an exBourbon hogshead before Wemyss bottled the cask in just 401 bottles in 2015.
Aroma: at the beginning like a fruit bowl of fragrant green fruits on a white, freshly starched tablecloth - clearly apple and pear, in addition angelica, biscuits with frosting and a warm ginger anise note
Taste: like a warm apple strudel with sprinkles, dusted with anise and nutmeg - behind it some lemongrass and ginger tea
Departure: spicy-warm on the finish with notes of white pepper and juicy grapefruit
Single barrel filling - pad 401 bottles
