For six generations, the Glenfarclas distillery has been owned by the Grant family!
With the Six Generations series, the distillery celebrates family ownership dating back to 1865, with a bottling dedicated to each generation.
This second bottling is dedicated to George Grant (1830-1890), selected three exOloroso sherry casks from the year 1956 were selected, these were married to each other and bottled on only 660 bottles on 15.07.2014.

This edition appears in a high-quality leather box. On the coin in the lid of the box, the portrait of George Grant (1830-1890) is shown.

To this day, Glenfarclas is one of the few distilleries in Scotland still family owned and run personally by the family. Today, Glenfarclas is owned by the fifth and sixth generation of the family.
John Grant (1805-1889) sent his son George to Rechlechrich Farm to see to it, while he himself on the
Blairfindy Farm stayed. In the meantime, he had re-leased the distillery to a distant cousin, John Smith.
Surrounded by lush grasslands, the farm was an ideal resting place for cattle transports between the family farms in Glenlivet and the
Markets in Elgin. Here, the cattle dealers could rest, care for the cattle and rest themselves with a glass or two of Glenfarcla's Single Malt Whiskey.
When John Smith left Glenfarclas in 1870 to build the Cragganmore distillery, John Grant took his son George as a business partner.
In the same year, George married Elsie Gordon, with whom he had 5 children, including two sons named John and George.
John Grant died in 1889, leaving George to run the distillery and farm. George died a year later and left his license
Widow and her two eldest sons John and George.
