This 5-year Octomore was distilled on 23.02.2009 by Jim McEwan, made from Islay barley of the Optic variety from the Lorgba Field of Octomore Farm on Islay.
Matured in an exBourbon barrel, bottled in August 2014.
Aroma: hay, straw and ... - reminds a little of cowshed ... - lots of peat and clearly oak
Taste: initially fruity with light sweetness, then the peat hits! very present - behind it a little vanilla and the typical sweetness
Finish: more and more peat, very long finish, with peppery notes
