Gordon & MacPhail celebrates the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II with this 60-year-old Glen Grant.
Distilled on February 2, 1952, this exclusive single malt whiskey aged for 60 years in a First Fill Sherry Hogshead and was filled on February 2, 2012 to 85 noble crystal decanters.
Only 85 decanters with heavy oak box, crystal glass stoppers and Harris tweed bag were bottled!
The bottling is accompanied by a certificate that describes the history of the barrel to the date of bottling.
Aroma: After 60 years of slow ripening, a great, complex single malt whiskey - fresh fruits and spices at the beginning - fresh apple aromas from Cox's Pippins and Granny Smith, cinnamon and fresh ginger - flowering with an elegant toffee sweetness
Taste: Now cedar and freshly cut grass, then again fruity - slightly spicy notes with white pepper
Finish: Slightly smoky on the finish, with an elgenate toffee note
